About the Foundation
What is the SEAKR Foundation?
The SEAKR Foundation is a unique, private, non-profit, organization that financially supports Colorado military families whose spouse/parent has been killed or wounded in action in Iraq or Afghanistan.
We are also excited to announce our new partnership with Project Sanctuary. As part of this partnership, all current families as well as new families will have the opportunity to go to a project sanctuary retreat for six days and five nights of therapeutic recreation in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. They will get to reconnect with their loved ones and rediscover the bonds that unite family in a supportive community resting on 6000 acres of stunning mountain property. They will have access to professional counseling and family support services including classes focused on healthy marriage and finances.
How are recipients selected?
Through research from the press, Veterans Affairs and military family assistance organizations, the SEAKR Foundation identifies Colorado families who have a loved one that was killed or injured in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. We then reach out to these families and cater assistance based on their particular needs.
How are donations distributed?
The SEAKR Foundation distributes almost all of the donations it receives for the benefit of the families it assists. To date, 99% of the funds received have been distributed to military families in need.
How can I help?
Here are some ways that you or your organization can help lift the burden that the SEAKR Foundation families are carrying.
1) Adopt a family through the SEAKR foundation. The SEAKR Foundation will work with you or your organization to set up a program for a family in need.
2) Donate your time to help fundraise for the Foundation Families. A great opportunity is selling tickets for 2nd Annual SEAKR Foundation Fundraising Event! You can also donate a silent auction item!
3) Donate funds to be distributed directly to SEAKR Foundation Families. Donations can be made by check written to the “SEAKR Foundation” and mailed to SEAKR Foundation c/o Ray Anderson, 6221 S. Racine Circle, Centennial, CO 80111.
